Anybody from New Jersey? Disseminate, organize, do something for equality, freedom and peace!

[17 Jun 2004|10:25am]

Just joined this community. I live in Sydney Aust, and so I guess we aren't as affected by the bullshit going on in the US, but I still hear a lot of stuff that makes me want to research more and more. I'd like to get a good definition of nationalism, and the advantages(if thre are any)/disadvantages of it.

cheers guys :)

New community! [15 Dec 2003|11:45pm]

(x-posted all over)

anarchisttheory is a new community, set up to discuss the theory/ies behind the activism. I'm not trying to compete with existing communities, just provide more space for discussion. Hope to see a few people around!

Hi, I'm new to this community. I want to learn anything & everything you have to teach me.

Hey, in case any of you have never seen Eric Drooker's art work, check it out. There's some really great images in there.

I saw him put on a slide show at the Anarchist Book Faire in San Francisco earlier this year. He presented a bunch of the paintings stringed together to tell a story with his narration and some music. It was awesomely moving. If he's ever in your area, definately go see.

Check it out.

As a definition “Autonomous Art” would encompass all artistic expression in any vein that, from it's inception, is created solely for the beautification of our world with no other motive bias. No restrictions are placed on it's viewing. No charge is assessed for the experience. It is free to be used by anyone and without copyright.

I was wondering, if there is anything else I should add to the interest list. There has to be more to put.

I am not to educated on socialism and I was hoping someone would teach me more about it.

I have also researched existentialism, and situationism a little bit and I was also hoping some one would teach more about those also.

Oh yeah, I forgot about nhilism. What is that philosophy about? (Damn, I have to many questions)

We need to talk, discuss. What are some good political books to read? Some good political music to listen to? Some good political art to look at? TALK TALK TALK!

we need to be active.

Hello, again, everyone. I was hoping more people would join this community, but I guess their has to be patience. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any Anarchist Folk music or any other anarchist music, other than Anarchist Punk music. Thanks.

Political Bands [10 Sep 2003|12:05pm]

Just wanted to see what political bands people here like/recommend.
I'm mostly into punk. I've been listening to punk for years, but until recently, I listened to mostly not-so-political bands (i.e. the Casualties, the Circle Jerks, Minor Threat, etc.)

Not that long ago, I bought a Conflict album, and it really changed my perspective on and tastes in music. I really like both their music and their lyrics quite a lot. I've started to check out some other Crass bands (which I had never paid much attention to in the past) to see what ones I like, but I was wondering if anyone in here could point me towards some good political/anarchist punk bands (new or old).

[ mood | thinking is cool! ]

Well, the other day, or actually I think it was like a week ago (or 2) not sure, but I was thinking, why people confuse Anarchism or Anarchy as meaning chaos. So, I was sitting and thinking about it, and didn't find the answer, but instead I came up with an idea.

Instead of these people who think anarchism or anarchy means chaos, or pseudo-anarchists thinking it means chaos, they can call themselves, chaotists, and the philosophy would be called chaotism ( which would be the philosophy of chaos, if that makes sense, :/ )and there would be chaos. If people start using that and spreading that, then it would "better" I hope. I know it is sort of a stupid, thoughtless, thought. hahaha.

Yeah, this was just an idea. Anyone have any better Ideas? Anyone want to add to this? Anyone just totally disagree with this idea, and wants to say something about it?

Well, I am all ears, and I would like to see some people talk about it.

Good Day.
